Grammar Bridge

Tamil and Korean are both SOV languages with postpositions, verb-final sentences, and suffixes that carry tense and respect. Every sentence below shows the structural parallel word by word — matching colours mean matching roles.

Subject

Adverb
나는 사과를 먹었어요

Naneun sagwareul meogeosseoyo

நான் ஆப்பிளை சாப்பிட்டேன்

Word order is identical — Subject → Object → Verb. This is already how you think in Tamil.

저는 한국어를 공부해요

Jeoneun hangugeo-reul gongbuhaeyo

நான் கொரியன் படிக்கிறேன்

Naan Korean padikkiraen

SOV holds perfectly again. The verb always comes last in both languages.

우리는 내일 영화를 볼 거예요

Urineun naeil yeonghwa-reul bol geoyeyo

நாங்கள் நாளை படம் பார்ப்போம்

Naangal naalai padam paarppoam

Even with an adverb added, the verb still comes last — just as in Tamil. No matter how many words are in the sentence, the structure stays Subject → (Adverb) → Object → Verb.
